Types of Mission Teams

  • Construction missions: Teams come to help with our construction projects
  • Evangelism missions: Teams/individuals come and speak at rehab, youth prison, church, Bible school and go into the mountains and villages to do VBS, preach, teach and evangelize.
  • Medical missions: Medical teams come to provide medical, dental and/or vision care in our clinic. We are seeking to do this 3-4 times a year.
  • Other missions: Groups and individuals can come minister at the children's home for a period of time, groups and individuals can also come help us work the farm for a period of time. Missionaries can also come and help us with home schooling or whatever else the Lord puts on your heart.

Groups can come as either of the above mission teams and they can also mix and match what they'd like to do. For example, a construction group can also evangelize and a medical group can also evangelize. Whatever your talents and abilities are, God can use them here.

Groups and individuals planning to come on a mission trip need to complete and turn in the guidelines form, policies and procedures form, application and referral forms to: Christ Outreach Ministries, 5550 Hwy 81, Phil Campbell, AL 35581

Misc. Information

  • You must have a valid U.S. Passport. No visa is required in Honduras, however, there is a $30 exit fee at the airport before you board the airplane. You can stay in-country for 30 days at a time and apply for extensions up to 90 days. If youths younger than 18 are in your group, have notarized documents with permissions to travel on the mission, as well as official birth certificates (whether traveling with parents or not).
  • It would be good for you to have Hepatitis-A and -B vaccinations, tetanus, typhoid and malaria vaccinations and be free of any other contagious illnesses.
  • The U.S. dollar is currently equal to about 18.74 lempiras. Don't count on using credit cards or traveler's checks. Bring dollars and we'll help you exchange them at the bank.
  • There is some gang activity in the country, but it is mostly in the big cities and tourist areas. Security is always to be in mind.
