 Above,
Honduras' First Lady came to the children's home for
the grand opening ceremony in September 2004. She is in the
white, surrounded by the children's home staff, Jimmy,
Jessica, their children, and Don and Brenda Crigger.

Originally,
we had children at our La Ermita site,
but we closed our home in April 2004.
Since
then, we have served as a supportive
ministry to Jimmy Hughes Ministries'
Children's Home.
Jimmy Hughes works
with the First Lady, Senora Aguas Ocana
de Maduro. She
is responsible for Honduras' orphaned,
abused and exploited
children.

|
The children who come to Jimmy
Hughes' home, come for many
reasons. Some are witnesses to crimes; their family
has been murdered. They will stay here until they testify
and it is safe for a family member to claim them. Others
come for safety and/or have no family to claim them;
they will stay until someone adopts them.
Others come because they are at social risk - i.e.
being used as prostitutes or in child pornography or
are abused and taken advantage of. They will stay until
a safe family member claims them or until they are adopted.
And yet others come because they have been abandoned.
If a family member can't be found to claim them, they
will stay until they are adopted. Some children may
never be adopted and they will stay until they grow
up.

 Trenia
Oliver enjoyed her visit with the
children in July 2004. Here she holds Jacquie,
Jamie is standing.

A
hold has been put on receiving more children as of Jan.
1, 2005, because there are 23 children in the home, until
more staff and financial support has been acquired.

Above is the children's
home, called Prince of Peace.
