News Archives January 2006: We pray that all of you had a wonderful Christmas and have a blessed new year. Life continues to amaze us here: the needs, the blessings, the people. Every moment seems to be a defining moment. Every day we are visiting people in the village, caring for the sick and/or bringing food, medicine or clothes to someone. Every day new people come into our lives and God gives us the privilege of being his hands and heart. Right now our mission is involved daily, or almost daily in providing for 73 people in La Ermita. December 2005: "Today I think I cried or started to cry three times. How many times this past week, this past month that tears have swollen my eyes, I can't recall. But I did not cry because I was sad. I cried because I could hardly believe how immense was the power and love of our God. I cried because I saw that God is bigger than any obstacle, God's love is more powerful than people's prejudices, and God's power and ability can make anything happen." - Gracie November 2005: October has proven to be probably the busiest month we have had here. We've done more things, met more people and prepared for more things than any other month, except possibly July. God has been awesome in everything. We want to thank all of you for your support, encouragement and prayers. You are partners with us every day in everything we do. October
2005:
Something's always going on. Ashley has successfully settled
into school at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tenn. Gracie
went back to Alabama for two days in September to get Dominic
and had a chance to check on Ashley at school. Dominic arrived
in Honduras Sept. 16 and has been getting used to Honduran life.
Lee returned to Alabama Sept. 20-29 to check in with our sponsors,
visit with family and attend a mission conference in Speake,
Alabama. |
| August/September 2005: Yes! We are alive and well in Honduras! We have faced many challenges, and still do, but we're doing well. One of the challenges we face is our Web site went down at about the time we left. Once we have the Internet set up at the mission, which will be in a week or two, we will get that all fixed and updated. Our shipping container was delayed for a month because of hurricanes that came up through the Caribbean to the Gulf. Then it was held for two weeks in Customs, but we finally got it onto the mission on August 12. July
2005:
The time has finally come to pack and leave and Rev. Lee says
he's ready! June 2005: The countdown continues as we prepare to leave for Honduras on June 29 out of Birmingham at 6:30 a.m. Please keep us in your prayers as we finish with our preparations. It seems as though our lives have been put on fast forward as we race to accomplish everything that needs to be done. We still have three churches to present at and are almost at our goal for our budget. May 2005 News And another calendar page turns… sounds like a soap opera. April has proven to be one of our busiest months since we began our preparations for moving to Honduras. And now we think May might be just as busy. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare. If you haven't already made our address change: P.O. Box 701 is going to be our permanent U.S. address. Once we get to Honduras and get our mailing address there, we'll let you know. We'd love to have letters from you. Our tickets are bought and we travel to Honduras on June 29. Our shipping container will leave Mobile June 27 and catch up with us 4-5 days later. April 2005 News Spring has finally arrived and we are enjoying the warmer weather, even though it has brought some storms at times. We've closed on our house and moved into a three-month rental and continue our preparations for our move to Honduras on June 28. Please note the change in our mailing address: P.O. Box 701 is going to be our permanent U.S. address. Lee's father will check our mail a couple of times a week after we move. We will, however, get ourselves a P.O. Box in Honduras once we get there for those of you who wish to send us mail directly. March 2005 News Time has surely begun to fly as we approach the four-month mark before we move to Honduras. Fund raising has been going full force and we've spoken at several churches that have so graciously welcomed us. So far we have $676 a month in sponsorships and three of the churches we have visited are adding to that. They've said they'll sponsor us and now we're just waiting to hear what their boards decide. We have some more churches booked to speak at in the coming months and are working on visiting some more. We've got a ways to go to reach our goals, but God is faithful and we know he'll supply all our needs. Feb. 2005

January
has been a very busy month for us, cleaning up from
Christmas and beginning to pack more and prepare
for our move to Honduras. Our house is now on the
market and we are in faith that God is in charge
and will provide for this sale and our move in his
best way. On Jan. 15, we had a big meeting in Phil
Campbell, Ala. Jan. 2005 News It's hard to believe that 2005 has begun and there's so much work to do this year. This past year has been exciting and has seen tremendous growth and change with the ministry. This is the first of our monthly newsletters to keep all of you updated on what's going on in the ministry. We are now preparing for the push of fundraising and preparation for our move to La Ermita in the end of June. But before we talk about upcoming events, let us briefly recap for you what has been accomplished during the past year. Copyright(c) 2004/2005 En Gedi Productions. All rights reserved. |
