Christ
Outreach Ministries has about 46 acres of land in La
Ermita. Our vision is to grow crops and animals to provide
food for the mission, a Meals-On-Wheels food program
for widows and the handicapped, and for Jimmy Hughes'
children's home and whatever other needs arise.
The
main field crops will be tomatoes, cantalope, watermelon,
cucumbers, squash, beans and corn. We will also have
a small mission garden with other vegetables. In addition,
we will plant fruit trees: papayas, mangos, coconuts,
bananas, oranges, lemons and limes.
We
hope to provide jobs for
the community. Extra produce will be sold to pay salaries and
provide a small source of income for the mission.
We will raise chickens,
turkeys, rabbits, goats, cows and pigs (adding
fish in October) to provide meat, eggs, cheese and milk
for the programs we support.
